What breaks doesn't always need mending. Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of honoring what is imperfect, I built this bowl on three rounded feet and glazed it in deep blue, interrupted by metallic lines that trace the surface like quiet scars. During firing, one side fell open on its own - unplanned, unforced, and exactly right. It turned the form into something I couldn't have made on purpose. A vessel for fruit, for presence, for letting things be as they are.
