Who is zuko?
Born in 1998 and raised in Berlin, studying Sculpture at the Berlin Weissensee School of Art, I’ve been developing my artistic practice since 2021. My work spans into various scales, from smaller, unique pieces available here and up to larger sculptural installations. These conceptual installations, along with my experimental work in alternative photography and other projects, can be viewed in exhibitions and on my portfolio.
Each piece listed on zuko-ceramics.com is handcrafted using traditional ceramic techniques, primarily with stoneware and porcelain. I combine hand-building methods for organic forms with pouring liquid porcelain into plaster or fabric molds. The process involves two firings: a bisque firing at 800°C and a glaze firing at 1250°C. While this website features available pieces, I also accept custom commissions tailored to specific spaces or occasions.
Inspired by the intricate beauty of nature—from lichens and seed pods to underwater landscapes—my work explores the interplay between self-reflection and the natural world. My art embraces what cannot be standardized: the living, the unique, and the imperfect, finding beauty in unexpected details. Each piece celebrates natural transformations, irregular surfaces, and the marks of time, blending the organic and the imaginary into tangible forms.
